The Peoria Health Care Coalition is talking about the future of health insurance coverage, prompted by concerns about a possible repeal or replacement of Obamacare.

That was the focus of a meeting Mon. with 18th District Congressman Darin LaHood.

“This is not a moment. This a movement. This is one group:  the Peoria Health Care Coalition that is coming together to have these discussion now for your children for my children for your spouse, for the people in our community, that we make sure that we taking care of those critical components of the ACA,” Katie Jones, a volunteer organizer for the coalition, said.

The Health Care Coalition is comprised of members from the Peoria Chapter of the NAACP, the UAW, Illinois Alliance of Retired Americans and the Interfaith Alliance of Central Illinois. They're advocating for maintaining components of the Affordable Care Act, like essential health benefits.

Jones says the group is scheduled to meet with 17th District Congresswoman Cheri Bustos Tues.
