Schock Trial Granted Continuance

Former Congressman Aaron Schock was in court today via video link. Four separate locations participated in the hearing with a federal courtroom linked for viewing in Peoria.

U.S. District Judge Tom Chanzle-Haskins heard the defendant's motion to delay the February 7th trial start date until July. Judge Chanzle-Haskins was sitting in for Judge Sue Myerscough.

He granted the continuance, saying the indictment involves a large number of witnesses and it will take a considerable amount of time to line them up and get through the trial. Subpoenas are to be issued by April 1st with pre-trial motions due May 1st.

The former Peoria Congressman’s pre-trial is scheduled for June 26th with the trial to begin July 11th.
