Women's Caucus Seeks to Level Economic Playing Field

The Congressional Women’s Caucus is a group of US representatives seeking to improve the economic condition of single, working parents.

Caucus member Cheri Bustos of the 17th congressional district wants to assure there is affordable child care, paid family leave and single parents don’t economically suffer when a child becomes sick.

Bustos says caucus members called president-elect Donald Trump to ask for support. He then handed the phone to his daughter.

"Ivanka Trump, Donald’s daughter, gets on the phone and is willing to work with us. We’re starting to assign different responsibilities among our women members and we are going to approach this, Democrats and Republicans together, and our plan is to work with the White House so we can have success," Bustos said.

The Women’s Caucus is comprised of all 104 female members of the US Congress.
