CAT Aurora Production Move Considered

Caterpillar is contemplating moving machine production out of its Aurora facility. The move will be in addition to the global restructuring and cost savings plan announced in September 2015.

The company says it continues to evaluate its global manufacturing capacity, to use existing space most efficiently while maintaining the ability to meet demand when it returns.

Caterpillar is contemplating transitioning its Aurora facility production to two other U.S. facilities.

Large Wheel Loaders and Compactors are going to Decatur and Medium Wheel Loaders to North Little Rock, Arkansas.

The company plans to maintain an office in Aurora for engineering and product support work.
