Christmas Tree Disposal Options

After Christmas festivities are over and the presents are all unwrapped, the next task is figuring out how to dispose of the Christmas tree before the cats knock it over again. Thankfully, WCBU has compiled a handy list of tips for tree pickup and recycling for local residents. If you'd like to add additional programs to our list, please email us. Thank you!

Mulching

For those looking for a greener way to get rid of the tree, the Tazewell County Health Department will collect trees at ICC through January 13th, and turn them into mulch to be used on the ICC campus in the coming months. Details on that program are available by calling (309) 925-5511 ext. 270.

Trees can also be processed as regular weekly household waste (landfill) in Peoria and East Peoria.
