The Peoria County Board has three new members. The body remains a democratic majority with a 10-8 make up of Democrats and Republicans. But this board is less gender diverse than its predecessor.

There are still three black members, more than 16% of the boards make-up representing more than 17% of the county’s population based on 2010 census numbers. But the Peoria County Board went from having five women to two. Women make-up more than 51% of the county’s population and now constitute about 11% of the board.

4th District Board Member Andrew Rand was elected to a second term as chairman and 10th District Board Member Stephen Morris was also elected to his second term as vice-chair.
