Duckworth Looks Forward to Bipartisan Work to Move Country forward

Tanya Koonce

Illinois Senator-Elect Tammy Duckworth thanked supporters in Chicago, Springfield and Peoria. Duckworth says she remains committed to working in a bipartisan fashion for manufacturing jobs, roads, waterways and rail as well as college loan refinancing.

“I’m willing to work with the new administration, but I am also willing to stand up to them if they don’t do right by the working families of this great state and great country.”

Duckworth says any presidential supreme court nominee needs to have a confirmation hearing and that’s not what happening now. She says she is meeting with outgoing Senator Mark Kirk after Veteran’s Day Ceremonies Friday to talk about the transition of the office.
