Peoria Teachers Ratify New Contract

After six months of negotiations, Peoria public school teachers have a new contract, pending school board action. Teachers voted overwhelmingly in favor of the new pact Monday night. It replaces an expired agreement that ended June 30.

Peoria Federation of Teachers Local 780 represents nearly 11-hundred teachers in Peoria Public Schools. Union president Jeff Adkins-Dutro would not release details of the contract until the District 150 school board votes on the pact tonight.

Adkins-Dutro says the process was a full negotiation, updating contract language in addition to wage and benefit issues.
