West Nile Virus Found in Tazewell County

Health officials are issuing a West Nile Virus warning after a dead bird tested positive in Tazewell County.

Human cases of the disease are rare, but the Illinois Department of Public Health is urging people to take precautions, especially since recent temperatures have been more favorable for outdoor activity.

Common symptoms include fever, nausea, and headaches. On average only one in five people infected show symptoms.
