Congress Members Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) and Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) toured the Caterpillar Visitors Center yesterday, to emphasis the importance of the Export-Import Bank in job creation.

Hoyer who’s served in congress for more than 35 years, is the Democratic Whip and second ranking house member in his party. He says Caterpillar typifies the value and importance of Make It in America agenda the Export-Import Bank.

“Now some people says that’s big help for big business. Yes. But what it’s really a big help for in my view is a lot of jobs. A lot of people have jobs because we are able to export those goods and they have a job right here in America. So we’re going to continue to work on that.”

The charter renewal of the Ex-Im Bank that was passed through the highway bill last year is not full strength. But Hoyer says since the  December passage it’s helped Caterpillar make 112 Million dollars in exports.

He says that’s an example of the commerce and job-creation that makes it so important to achieve full reauthorization of the Ex-Im Bank.
