The body found inside a van fire last night in the 500 block of NE Adams was 57 year-old Elise Rogers.
Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says Rogers was identified through fingerprints even though her body sustained extensive burns. Rogers’ body was found in the back of the 1995 GMC conversion van. Ingersoll also says initial autopsy results indicate she was alive at the time of the fire. Toxicology tests are pending.
First responders were alerted to the van fire at 11:55 Monday night. Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene just after midnight. It’s still unclear who the van belongs to.
Rogers’ last known address was 6243 Post Oak Road in Peoria. The fire and death are under investigation.
