The Peoria Park District’s board voted to instate its interim executive director to the permanent position.
The district announced Mon. Emily Cahill is the new Executive Director of Parks and Recreation, effective immediately.
It’s the second time the board has voted on a new executive director this year.
Cahill replaces Bonnie Noble, who retired last November after more than two decades serving in that role.
In April, the Park board first voted to hire a different candidate, Susan Knoblauch, for the position. Knoblauch declined to take the job last month, citing family reasons.
The park district says Monday night’s vote to appoint Emily Cahill to the vacant post.
Cahill has worked within the park district since 2011.
