Park the Car: Go CityLink

ridecitylink.org

CityLink is looking to increase awareness of how riding public transportation can save families money on fuel expenses and help the environment. That’s the goal of Thursday’s 11th annual Dump the Pump Day.

According to the American Public Transportation Association, a two-person household can save more than $9,000 a year by downsizing to a single car. CityLink busses run on biodiesel fuel and filter the air by emitting cleaner exhaust than the air they take in.

CityLink is encouraging people to ride the bus as part of a social media contest to win a 30 day bus pass and 4 tickets to a Chief’s game. CityLink is handing out promotional pins in the Transit Center Lobby from 8:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.

To enter the contest, participants need to take a picture wearing the pin while riding the bus. Then upload the image and like CityLink’s Facebook or Twitter page.
