Trump May Mean Democratic Infusion

Donald Trump’s rise to presumptive Republican presidential nominee seemingly has an unintended side effect on the Democratic Party. It’s motivating more Democrats to run for public office.

  Democrats to run for congress. "We have recruited new people that we’ve been working on for a long time who just didn’t think they would run for this reason or that reason.”

  The so-called “Trump effect” also seems to have a positive monetary impact on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. It reports raising $8.6 million in April -- compared to $5.4 million raised by the National Republican Congressional Committee.
