New International Terminal Set to Takeoff at PIA

The new $11 million International Terminal at Peoria International Airport is about to be commissioned. The new terminal is being dedicated April 12th and is named in honor of former U-S Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.

Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx and the head of the Federal Aviation Administration are expected to be on hand for the event.

The Lahood International Terminal is a two story building with 22,000 square feet. It includes a Customs facility and two additional gates suitable for domestic and international flights.

The addition of the new gates at the five year-old facility are needed to support the airport’s growth. It’s consistently setting passenger records. 640,000 passengers traveled through Peoria International Airport last year.
