The three year-old Fuller Center in Peoria showcased some of its work for Congresswoman Cheri Bustos Thursday. The nonprofit, all-volunteer organization helps veterans with home repairs that are out of reach.

Congresswoman Bustos visited the home of a Korean War Veteran named Charles. He has a new ramp to his back door, and accessible bathroom retro fittings. She says the Fuller Center program is doing great things for people like Charles who’s made huge sacrifices for the country.

“We now know of new resources if there is a veteran who comes forth, needs a little help with fixing up with their home. Now we’ve got a place that we can turn. So we will help get word out on this.”

So far the Fuller Center has completed more than 70 home repairs for veterans in Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford Counties.
