Peoria’s South Side will see the return of a grocery store early this summer.
Save-a-Lot food stores plans to open a location in the vacant store on Western Avenue. The area has been without a grocery provider for two years since the Aldi’s closed the 210 South Western store.
Save-a-Lot will mean a closer source for fresh produce, dairy, meat and essential household items for Southside Peoria residents. The area has been considered a food desert since the departure of the last store.
