Eureka College is joining those banning hoverboards on campus.  The ban includes all campus buildings, including residence halls, and all school grounds.

Spring semester started Tuesday at the college. Jeffrey Coats is the Associate Provost for Student Affairs. He says the school wanted to make the campus community aware that hoverboards are not allowed on campus because of the potential safety concerns.

Eureka is only the latest in the list of colleges and universities making such a ban because of the fire hazards related to the lithium ion batteries in the hoverboards.

Eureka joins Bradley the University of Illinois and the Chicago Metra in instituting such a safety ban.
