Caterpillar Considering Moving Jobs From Joliet To Mexico

Caterpillar is considering moving parts of its operations in Joliet, Illinois to Mexico.  The heavy-equipment maker announced this week it could cut up to 10,000 jobs as it deals with a sagging global economy.   Cat notified Joliet employees who truck-hoist and strut-cylinders that the transition would impact nearly 40 jobs and the move would begin in early 2017 if approved.  Caterpillar Spokeswoman Lisa Miller says the Joliet facility would remain open as a supply chain hub with about 20 remaining jobs
