State’s Attorney files felony charges against man shot by police

The Tazewell County State’s Attorney has filed felony charges against the man a Creve Coeur police officer shot early Tuesday morning outside Lucky Break bar.  

Police struck 31-year-old Michael Cleary in the hand when the S-U-V he was in sped rapidly toward officers. Officers pursued the vehicle until it crashed at Glen Oak and Knoxville in Peoria.  

Cleary is charged with Aggravated Assault and Aggravated fleeing or eluding a peace officer. The charges are Class three and four felonies respectively.  Cleary’s bond is set at $8,200.
