Officer-involved shooting in Creve Coeur follows response to disturbance

Creve Coeur police officers shot a suspect in a disturbance incident early Tuesday morning outside a bar.  Police responded to Lucky break Bar and told two suspects entering an SUV to exit the vehicle, but the vehicle sped rapidly toward officers.  That’s when Creve Coeur police shot at the SUV, striking the driver, 31-year-old Michael Cleary, in the hand.  Officers pursued the vehicle until it crashed at Glen Oak and Knoxville in Peoria.  The subjects were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.   Illinois State Police are conducting an independent investigation of the incident.
