East Peoria Police crackdown on impaired driving

The East Peoria Police Department reminds drivers to plan ahead and designate a sober driver.  

Reminding motorists that it is illegal to drive with a Blood-Alcohol-Content of .08 or higher.  

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over initiative is part of a national crack-down on drunk and impaired drivers.  

More patrol vehicles and roadside safety checks will be in place now through Labor Day.  

Police will also be ticketing seat belt law violators.
