District 150 teachers and staff filled Bradley’s Renaissance Coliseum this morning for an annual back-to-school kickoff event.

Superintendent Sharon Kherat gave faculty a sort of “state of the schools” speech that details her vision and goals for the year ahead. District spokesperson Chris Copeland says this year’s focus is on building teacher-student relationships.

Kherat has been stressing the importance of social and emotional interventions at District 150 board meetings when addressing concerns about discipline.
