Schock in federal court, challenging potential contempt citation

Alex Rusciano / Peoria Public Radio

Former U.S. Congressman Aaron Schock was in federal court in Springfield this week, challenging a potential civil contempt citation.  U.S. Attorney's office spokeswoman Sharon Paul says the possible citation stems from Schock allegedly failing to turn over campaign and congressional records.  She declined to comment whether this week’s hearings were connected to an ongoing grand jury investigation of Schock into allegations of improper campaign spending.  Paul says the civil contempt matter was delayed pending a status conference set for late next month.
