Peoria opens cooling centers amid high temperatures

Area resident needing relief from the high temperatures can stop by several cooling centers in Peoria.  The City/County health Department says the centers include the Salvation Army on Northeast Jefferson, the Friendship House on Northeast Madison, and all Peoria Fire Stations, and the Civic Center Verizon Café.  The Department also says residents should stay indoors, wear light colored, and avoid caffeine, alcohol and other dehydrating liquids.
