Easter Seals in Peoria has furloughed 40 staff members in the face of the state budget debacle. That constitutes all of the staff who work under the state Child and Family Connections grant. The therapy services cover children birth to three who have developmental delays and disabilities throughout 11 Central Illinois Counties.

Here is the more indepth interview Peoria Public Radio's Tanya Koonce did with the Executive Vice President of Peoria Easter Seals. Jim Runyon explains how some of the details of the state's budget impasse are effecting people throughout Illinois.

The state entered its new fiscal year July 1st without a spending plan in place. No matter when the state gets a budget it’s expected to include some combination of cuts as well as tax and fee increases.
