Car traffic on Water Street will be closed during Peoria’s Fourth of July Fireworks events from State Street to Eaton. That’s due to the excessive rainfall and flood barriers along the riverfront. Pedestrians can still enjoy the fireworks display from Water Street. Parking will also still be available in the Niagara and Jefferson decks.
CityLink will also stop regular service on July 4th. However, the CityLink Park and Ride service will transport people from Evergreen Square to the Transit Center before and after the fireworks. Regular service resumes on July 5th.
In East Peoria, I-74 ramps leading to Riverside Drive and the Bob Michel Bridge will be closed starting at 9pm.
