Caterpillar reducing manufacturing space at two plants

Two Caterpillar facilities are getting a size downgrade to boost efficiency.  The company is eliminating use of the largest building at its facility in Aurora, Illinois.  That’s expected to reduce one-million-square-feet of manufacturing space.  The Aurora plant will continue to produce wheel loaders and dozers.  Cat is also re-designing its South Milwaukee plant, reducing more than 200-thousand-square-feet of space.
