Saturday is the annual Komen Race for the Cure in Peoria. It marks 30 years the event has raised money for research and other ways of support used in the fight against breast cancer.
More than 10,000 T-shirts and hundreds of volunteers are two of the many elements needed for a successful race. That’s according to Stu Regnier, who’s coordinated the annual event in Peoria for nine years. He sat down with Peoria Public Radio’s Alex Rusciano to talk about tomorrow’s Race for the Cure, starting with the event’s history:
Race activities start tomorrow morning at seven, with the race kicking off at eight at the Metro Centre.
