Governor Bruce Rauner wants state drug officers to weigh-in on issues being considered by a state criminal justice reform commission. Rauner created the group by executive order earlier this year. He says the commission needs to consider multiple factors:
“Sentencing reform is part of it. Law changes in terms of criminal penalties need to be part of the conditions, looking at different parole conditions.”
Rauner made his comments after speaking at the state Drug Enforcement Officer Association Conference in East Peoria.
