Voters choose status quo Peoria City Council, new members for District 150

The City of Peoria saw slightly fewer people head to the polls yesterday compared to four years ago.  Peoria City Election Commission Executive Director Tom Bride says one reason could be yesterday’s soggy weather:

“I wish we had a better turnout, I think a lot of people do. But I’m real happy with the way the election got administered.”

Bride says another reason for slightly lower turnout is that the only city-wide election on the ballot was for at-large council members.

PEORIA CITY COUNCIL

Peoria City Council At-Large incumbents all keep their seats for another term.  Beth Jensen, Chuck Weaver, Ryan Spain, Eric Turner and Beth Akeson got the top votes.  They defeated challenger Katherine Coyle.
