Rauner sets special election dates for Schock’s seat

 The special primary election to fill a vacancy in the 18th Congressional District is tentatively set for June 8th. Aaron Schock officially resigned the seatTuesday.  Governor Bruce Rauner also set the special general election for July 24th.  The timeline for candidates to file nomination papers with the state runs from April 15th to April 20th.  So far, state senator Darin LaHood and Bloomington Attorney and fellow Republican Mark Zalcman are the only two candidates officially running for the seat.
