Bradley University’s new Athletics Director is Peoria native Chris Reynolds. Peoria Public Radio’s Alex Rusciano reports on Reynold’s first day on the job:
Reynolds replaced Michael Cross, who resigned this month. Reynolds graduated from Peoria High where he was an all-state player. He also went on to lead Indiana University to Big Ten titles in 1991 and 1993. Reynolds says he hopes to use his hometown roots to boost interest in Bradley sports:
“I don’t have to fake being a Bradley person. I love Bradley University, I love Peoria, Illinois. And I can relate to the people here because I’m one of them.”
Reynolds says there’s no timetable on deciding the future of men’s basketball coach Geno Ford. He says he wants to gather more information before making a coaching decision. Reynolds was Deputy Director of Athletics at Northwestern University since 2012.
