The Pekin-Peoria economy in 2014 grew less than a half-percent from the third to fourth quarters. A measurement of 30 business indicators say the region grew point-four-percent.
The Peoria-Pekin Metropolitan Statistical Area index represents Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Stark and Marshall Counties. It measures changes in job openings, unemployment claims and retail sales. The Economic Summary Index is produced by Bradley University's Center for Business and Economic Research. The Peoria Journal Star helps pay for the index research.
