The annual Peoria City County Legislative Breakfast included about 50 elected and appointed community leaders.

The group submitted its annual wish list to the contingent of state lawmakers, mostly notably including capital road projects.

The group also recognized the election of Democratic State Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth to the House majority leadership team.

Rep. Gordon Booth says most members of the Democratic leadership team are from the Chicago area. “My hope is that it gives us in Central Illinois the advantage we need in our community so that we can move forward in 2015 and beyond. I am hoping that it works for our community.”

Democrats John Bradley of Marion and Frank Mautino of Spring Valley are the other Downstate members of the Illinois House of Representatives majority leadership team.
