Peoria art commission holds first meeting

Peoria’s new Public Arts Advisory Commission will weigh-in on the final picks for a downtown art walk.  The Sculpture Walk starts this summer and will feature 10 rotating pieces in the Warehouse District.  Commission Chair James Pearce is a furniture artist in the Warehouse District. He says the event will help highlight local talent:

“I think as an artist that Peoria is really underrated. I think the amount of talent and quality of work is fantastic.”

The new arts commission will also recommend how the city should handle requests to donate or loan art works to the city.
