230-full-time Caterpillar jobs in Joliet could be impacted as the company considers moving some operations to Mexico. The company says it’s considering moving some of its manufacturing duties to a sister-facility in Monterrey, Mexico, next year. The proposal is an effort to be more competitive.
The company is also closing facilities in Georgia and North Carolina. The Mapleton, Illinois facility will absorb up to 200 new jobs after those facilities close.
