Preparing for the first 2015 winter storm

froggyweb.

The Peoria Public Works Department is prepared for the City’s first winter storm of the new year. A statement from the agency says the City snow plows trucks are prepared for a variety of winter conditions including rain, ice and snow.

Light rain tonight is expected to turn into ice shortly after midnight. The City is planning to treat the streets with rock salt and a liquid brine application during that time.

Rain is to continue tomorrow turning into snow in the evening with less than an inch of accumulation. Public Works Crews will continue treating streets as needed. The winter storm is expected to pass by Sunday.

Peoria Public Works suggestions exercising extra caution for the variety of conditions expected.
