Peoria police continue to investigate an accident over the weekend that killed one teen girl and sent six others to the hospital.
The incident took place Saturday night after 8 on the lower portion of Detweiller Hill in Peoria. Police say an SUV carrying the teens struck a curb and lost control, causing the vehicle to rollover several times.
17-year old Danielle Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. Six other passengers were taken to area hospitals with minor to serious injuries. Police say they believe most of the passengers had on seat belts.
They say speed could’ve been a factor in the accident.
