Five people running for two District 150 board seats

Five people are running for two District 150 School Board seats. Dan Adler, Josh Haywood and Terry Spayer are running for the 5 year seat in School Board District 3.

Terry Spayer is a retired District 150 teacher who still subs in the schools and was heavily involved with the teacher’s union. Spayer announced his candidacy saying he’s wanted to run for school board for years:

“We’ve got to move forward, makes some stances and decisions and if this is all about the kids? Okay let’s push it for the kids. If that means changes, what ever, let’s make some changes.”

Two other people are running for the four year term remaining on the seat that was filled temporarily after it was vacated. Current board member Jon Bateman is running for the remaining term following his appointment to the post this summer. Brenda Wilson is also running for the partial term Third District School seat.

The deadline to file for school board candidacy is next Monday, December 22nd. The consolidated Election is April 7th.

There is no primary in Peoria County for the municipal election cycle.
