Martha Herm stepping down from abuse prevention center role

The Center for Prevention of Abuse is starting a national search to replace it’s outgoing executive director. Peoria Public Radio’s Alex Rusciano reports:

Martha Herm is leaving the post after more than two decades with the group.  Greg Miller is on the Center’s Board of Directors. He says finding Herm’s replacement comes with its own challenges:

“You don't take 25 years of leadership and look at all the institutional knowledge and things that she’s got and expect to find an immediate replacement with that.”

Miller says the board hopes to find a new replacement for Herm this spring. Herm says she plans to stay on until her successor is picked.
