More than 100 residents braved the bitter cold to walk through neighborhoods damaged by last year's tornado.
The walk took place amid 17 degree weather with wind and snow flurries.
Rebecca Weltmann is president of the Washington Ministerial Association that put on the remembrance walk. She says after the tornado, the only way people could get around was on foot:
“There was no place that they could drive to because there was so much debris and so much damage. So the idea of being able to walk is just that visual of we remember and we’re still here.”
The walk ended with a service at Washington High School that included song and scripture readings.
