Pekin to celebrate 12th Night Out Against Crime

The City of Pekin is celebrating its 12th Annual Night Out Against Crime. The Thursday evening event runs from five to eight at the Avanti's Dome.

The first hour is for invited guests that include special needs children and their families. But from six to eight all Pekin residents are invited to take part.

This year's Night Out Against Crime includes K-9 demonstrations, public safety vehicle displays, bouncy houses and a rock climbing wall. More than 30 vendors will also be on hand handing out candy in advance of Halloween.

Pekin's Night Out Against Crime also has food and is free. It's being paid for through donations from community businesses and organizations.

Children are also encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.

More than 3000 people are expected to participate in the Pekin Night Out Against Crime Thursday evening at the Avanti's Dome.
