Nearly six million dollars is coming to central Illinois for various construction projects.

Governor Pat Quinn announced one-point-four million is being awarded to Fulton, Knox, Peoria, and Stark Counties for pavement markings.

Stark and Peoria Counties are also receiving one-point-seven million to resurface nearly five miles of highway from Stark-Speer Road to Illinois Route 90 in Princeville.

The rest of the funding is going for projects in McLean, Logan and Sangamon Counties.

The capital investments are part of the Governor’s Illinois Jobs Now! Construction program.
