The Illinois Treasurer’s office is making a couple of stops in Central Illinois Thursday and Friday to help reunite people with lost money and property.
Businesses and banks must turn over inactive and unclaimed accounts and safe deposit boxes after at least five years. The department currently has more than two billion dollars in unclaimed cash and property.
The Treasurers office is at Independence Village on West Northmoor Road, Thursday from 2:30 to 4 o’clock.
The office is also at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton, Friday from 10 to 11:30.
