U.S. Congresswoman Cheri Bustos says the region could benefit from a new Digital Manufacturing lab next year. She says the $320 million lab will help small and large businesses reduce the cost of developing and launching new products:
“This is access to being able to really take a concept to out the door in a faster process, saving money and really making us more competitive in this region.”
The Lab will be based in Chicago. But Bustos says she wants to eventually see regional hubs in the 17th District. Bustos says the private-public digital lab already has buy-in from Caterpillar and John Deere.
