Belafonte speaking at annual Peoria luncheon

Harry Belafonte is the speaker for the 2015 Martin Luther King Jr luncheon in Peoria. 

The singer, songwriter, and actor replaces United States Congressman John Lewis who had an unexpected scheduling issue. 

Belafonte was an advocate and confidant of Dr King and an early supporter of the civil rights movement.

The luncheon is handled by the group called Public Employees for Community Concerns.

The luncheon is January 19, 2015 at the Peoria Civic Center. Tickets for the luncheon are $40 per person or $400 for a table of 10.
