The Metamora Courthouse State Historic Site is displaying one of the 19th century’s most popular forms of entertainment. The exhibit on stereoscopic photography opens Friday.
The exhibit includes more than 200 photo cards and eight of the special viewers that turned photos into 3-D images. The photo cards include military themes, comedy and world culture. Those visiting the exhibit can use the viewers and the photo cards.
Metamora Courthouse is an Illinois Historic Preservation Agency site. It’s open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 1-5 p.m. It’s also open 7-9 p.m. during Friday night concerts in the square and 9 a.m. to noon for Saturday morning farmers markets.
