Changes are coming for Pekin residents who utilize CityLink’s bus service.
The changes are occurring for routes 17, 18 and 23 beginning Monday. The goal is to streamline stops and improve time schedules as ridership has increased.
The #17 Pekin North Route will no longer run on Capitol to Sheridan or stop at the Schnuck’s Grocery store. It will also no longer circle the UAW Retirement Center, but will pick up at the stop sign at the entrance of the complex.
Changes to the #18 South Route include no longer circling the Court Place Retirement Center. The bus also won’t drive into Sunset Hills or on Koch between 5th and 14th streets.
The #23 Peoria to Pekin Route will no longer operate on Pekin Avenue in East Peoria or Rusche Street in Creve Coeur.

Changes to the #17 Pekin North Route:
• When leaving the Courthouse, the bus will not run on Capitol to Sheridan. It will take Margaret to 5th to 8th.
• The bus will not run to Schnucks Grocery store, and turn at Broadway and 14th, inbound and outbound.
• The bus will operate to the Social Security Office on Broadway three times outbound at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, and 1:00 pm. Then three times inbound at 10:25 am 12:25 am, and 2:25 pm.
• The bus will no longer circle the UAW Retirement Center, but will pick up at the stop sign at the entrance to the UAW complex.
• The bus will not go into the Food Depot parking lot at Court and Parkway.
• The bus will park at the Courthouse on Capitol.
Changes to the #18 Pekin South Route:
• The bus will not drive the circle into Court Place Retirement Center, but will stop on Court.
• The bus will no longer operate on Koch between 5th and 14th. New routing outbound will be Koch left on 5th, right on Derby, left on 14th. Reverse for the inbound.
• The bus will not operate into Sunset Hills (Vallevista, Highwood, Powers, and Entrance). The bus will stay out on Court.
• The bus will park at the Courthouse on Capitol.
Changes to the #23 Peoria to Pekin Route:
• The bus will no longer operate on Pekin and Rusche. It will operate inbound and outbound on Rt. 29.
• On the outbound trip to the Courthouse, the Rt. 23 will take 5th, right on Ann Eliza, left on Capitol, left on Court.
• The bus will park at the Courthouse on Court.
• When leaving the Courthouse, the bus will not run on Capitol to Sheridan, but will take Court to 5th to 8th.
