Some residents living in the Vinton Highlands Subdivision area in Peoria could get financial help repairing their homes.
The city of Peoria is opening up the application process Monday for the Illinois Housing Development Authority’s Emergency Repair Program.
Low income residents who are 60 and older, or households with disabled or special-needs residents can apply for a five-year loan up to 20-thousand dollars.
The money can be used to bring the home up to city code and address lead-based paint, radon, asbestos, termites and mold.
More information on the application process is available by contacting the city’s Community Development Department.
